Juan Reyes may have opened Salsa Puerto Rican in January, but his experience in the restaurant industry goes way beyond that. Upon visiting Nashville for the first time, Juan, who’s owned his own restaurant in Puerto Rico since 2002, noticed there wasn’t an option for authentic Puerto Rican food anywhere. And so, when he fell in love with Music City and decided to make the move, he knew he wanted to bring a little bit of home with him. And we're so very happy he did. As the first authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in Nashville, Salsa Puerto Rican and Latin Cuisine features a farm-to-table inspired menu that's loaded with fresh, local ingredients and deeply rooted in Latin flavor. From carnivorous treats like the Carne Frita (fried pork with sautéed onions) to the vegetarian-friendly Arroz Mempostiao (mixed rice with beans), there’s a little something to satisfy everyone. As far as adult beverages go, we’re happy to report that the restaurant’s authenticity extends beyond the food menu, as 75 percent of Salsa’s cocktail menu features Don Q, an authentic Puerto Rican rum only recently made available in the States (so don’t event think about asking for Bacardi). A huge parking lot (it’s free!) and sunny patio round out the awesomeness. Because really, who doesn’t like good grub, easy parking and a big ol’ dose of Vitamin D? Menu Highlights: Sorullos de maiz (Sweet Corn Fritters), $8 Herb Breaded Fried Calamari with Cilantro Aioli, $10 Caesar Salad, $7 Fricase de pollo (Chicken Stew), $16 Lemon Honey Glazed Salmon, $16 Tres Leches, $7 Carne Frita (fried pork with sautéed onions), $17 Hours: Monday - Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday & Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Closed Sunday
