Scout Notes: When we first noticed that Urban Flats was gone and Music City Flats had taken its place, we’ll admit we were a little confused. There were times that we even questioned whether Urban Flats had ever existed. Maybe we made the whole thing up? In case you also thought you were going a little crazy, let us just confirm that yes, what was once Urban Flats is now Music City Flats. Why? Well, customer feedback is something the folks at Music City Flats take pretty seriously. So when the Urban Flats name kept them from acting on customer requests, like adding more booths and installing sound proofing measures (it used to be reallllllllllly loud inside), the folks at Music City Flats decided it was time to break away from the Urban Flats name and open a new restaurant. After revamping the dining area and enlisting a new chef to create a new, seasonally changing menu, Music City Flats opened for business just ten days after Urban Flats closed its doors (pretty impressive, huh?). Now, Music City Flats has the freedom to use local ingredients (yay!) as well as a healthier, whole-wheat flatbread recipe. Ingredients like roasted red peppers, which once came in a can, are now roasted in house—little things that made a huge difference. Now, let’s talk about food. While the Italian Sausage and Pepperonata flatbread is our favorite (the Italian sausage adds just enough spice to offset the sweetness of the house marinara sauce), the Queen Margarita (a great option for your vegetarian eaters) is a close second. Though the flatbread is perfectly filling on its own, we always order a House salad (we’re suckers for anything with candied pecans). In the mood for a boozy drink? Music City carries over 60 wines, all of which are available by the glass. Have any dietary restrictions? Let your server know. They’re extremely accommodating and can modify recipes to meet your vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/picky eater needs. Menu Highlights: Italian Sausage and Pepperonata Flatbread, $10 Queen Margarita Flatbread, $8 Blackened Steak Flatbread, $12 Fish Tacos, $9 Hours: Monday - Thursday, 11am to 11pm Friday - Saturday, 11am to 12am Sunday, 11am to 10pm
Housed in a 1940’s plantation home that was once a thoroughbred horse farm, this Franklin eatery has been serving up the best in gourmet comfort food for 12 years. Though recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as one of the “Best Business Lunch” spots in the area, we're kinda into hitting up Mère Bulles for date nights, too. While the white tablecloths and winding staircase might suggest an “uptight” vibe of sorts, that couldn’t be further from the truth (the comfort food-heavy menu balances nicely with the restaurant’s grand interiors). From seared ahi tuna to smoked chicken enchiladas and blackened fish tacos, the menu features a little something for everyone, including options for vegetarians and gluten-free eaters. We’re big fans of all of the fish dishes and for turf lovers, you can't go wrong with the perfectly cooked filet mignon. Oh, and be sure to check out the Mère Bulles patio on a pretty day—it’s one of the best in the city. Menu Highlights: Artisan Cheese Plate, $13 Charleston She-Crab Bisque, cup $5 or bowl $7 Fancy Bibb Salad, $8 Seared Filet Mignon, $28 Phyllo-Wrapped Sea Bass, $25 Seared Jumbo Scallops, $20 Hours: Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Starting with the fundido and moving on to a trio of tacos (Corona-fried fish and two chorizo), I was stuffed before I could even finish. But, after trying the blueberry margarita my date ordered, I ended up getting one for myself." - Happy Customer Make Your Mouth Crazy Happy From the fresh lemon in the whiskey-laden Tennessee Blueberry Sweet Tea to a choice of no fewer than seven margaritas, this West End spot is right to bill as a cantina first and foremost -- but perfectly portioned snacks from south of the border are never far behind your favorite sips.
