You’ve been having the same recurring dream for years now. You’re wandering through a forest on a beautiful, sunny day and you suddenly find yourself at the edge of a cliff. You inch closer and closer to the edge, peering down just enough to see a huge drop to the ground below. The real-life you would be scared senseless, but in your dreams you’re fearless – you can do anything. So you take a few steps back, get a running start and jump off the cliff. The “pendulum effect” means you might even experience speeds over 100 kph as well as multiple G forces in the course of your flight.
