Sushi can be as much a work of art as it is one of our most favorite meals ever; it’s as much about presentation as it is about fresh, authentic ingredients. But don’t feel bad as you demolish that sushi chef’s masterpiece work of art with those professional-grade chopsticks. You can always order more. And besides, these humble guys are kind of used to it by now. You won’t find massive parties pounding the table yelling “Sake Bomb! Sake Bomb” as they down shots of rice wine drowned in Red Bull. But you are allowed to have a little more upscale fun with your sushi in the form of sake martinis, hanging around for lingering Friday nights out in the plush red booths, keeping track of your booth-mate's chopstick fumbles, and trying new things. It’s a cool scene without feeling too “scene-y”. And while there is a definite presence of more “Americanized” rolls with fun sauces and creative presentations on the menu, the humble owner Kyo maintains the traditional sense of this sushi/sake bar with the freshest of ingredients and more traditional combinations. Zuma has been a favorite of the area, and of Atlanta sushi-eaters in general, for six years now. So you know there’s a loyal following of all kinds who come here to get their raw fish fill. We're proud to count ourselves among that following, as we work our way through the menu of over fifty roll options. With all that practice, my chopstick skills are bound to be perfect soon.
