Zoë Coupons and Deals
Chef Zoë Feigenbaum, alum of the French Culinary Institute, infuses her classical background into New American cuisine in her comfortable 45-seater. White brick and white-painted walls are sparsely decorated—just a few framed photographs of tranquil rural settings surrounded by flowers and greenery, along with some mirrors—to give the interior a clean look, yet the minimalist, Danish Modern decor is offset by the strange-yet-wonderful scents and tastes of Zoë’s eclectic dishes. Pickled deviled eggs are delightfully sour and savory, the bright fuchsia color of the eggs (due to beet juice in the brine) providing a major “wow” factor. The oysters are enormous, fried to a crunchy golden crisp, and bursting with briny, oceanic flavor. Tender pork ribs are rubbed down with a glaze of tomato, miso, and anchovy that cranks umami up another level, and the minty, sweet, and creamy Tilda Swinton cocktail, served straight up with light rum, coconut milk, pineapple, and Fernet Branca menta is the ideal complement to cut through the rich, fall-off-the-bone meat and garlicky collard greens that come with it.
