Zito's Sandwich Shoppe Coupons and Deals
don't miss the real deal, upgrade to bbe vipBy Josh BernsteinWhile Brooklyn has no shortage of Italian sandwich shops, most seem to be stuck in 1962. That's why we were pleased when Zito's arrived in Park Slope, serving classic sandwiches—think chicken and meatball parm—crafted with impeccable local ingredients such as Faicco's pork, Salumeria Biellese charcuterie, and Il Fornaretto bread. The formula that led to Zito's success, and this second Slope location, is simple: Make sandwiches in Brooklyn modern and with stellar ingredients. This outpost is bright, with wooden tables, an L-shaped bar, and windows that open onto Fifth Avenue. (There's also a cool backyard.) Start with a pint of Sixpoint beer or Gotham Project wine, before diving into fried ravioli and rice balls or a killer Caprese salad. But don't forget your priorities—carefully prepared sandwiches served on semolina and ciabatta bread. Finishing one of these jaw-stretchers on your own is, fittingly, a heroic effort.
