The formula that led to Zito's success, and this second Slope location, is simple: Make sandwiches in Brooklyn modern and with stellar ingredients. This outpost is bright, with wooden tables, an L-shaped bar, and windows that open onto Fifth Avenue. (There's also a cool backyard.) Start with a pint of Sixpoint beer or Gotham Project wine, before diving into fried ravioli and rice balls or a killer Caprese salad. But don't forget your priorities—carefully prepared sandwiches served on semolina and ciabatta bread. Finishing one of these jaw-stretchers on your own is, fittingly, a heroic effort.
