Houston Grand Opera reprises its famed Mexican-American musical saga, "Cruzar La Cara De La Luna (To Cross the Face of the Moon)", the world's first Mariachi opera. Following three generations of a single clan, this heartfelt drama finds a man caught between two cultures and generations -- that of his immigrant father and American daughter -- who's then forced to find the true meaning of family when long-held secrets are suddenly revealed. Sung in Spanish and English with projected translations, the production features Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, whose director José "Pepe" Martínez composed the opera's music and co-wrote the lyrics with the show's director-book author Leonard Foglia.
