Taking the concept of breakfast sandwiches to the extreme, Waffle & Wolf folds in delicious, exotic "cravings" to its fluffy, doughy waffles (two of which are gluten-free). The result is a dish that transitions flawlessly from breakfast to lunch to dinner to I'm-just-really-hungry. While the waffles themselves come in three basic varieties (regular, buckwheat or cornbread), the mix-in options are nearly limitless and include everything from feta cheese and horseradish yogurt to Nutella and lemon mascarpone. Or trust the masters and go with one of the shops own combos, like the No. 29, served up with smoked salmon, lemon-dill-caper cream cheese, spinach and red onion. Regardless of ingredients, though, rest assured that it's made in-house, right when you order it (this is Williamsburg after all), so freshness is guaranteed. This spot also offers up sides like homemade kale chips and spiced chocolate pudding, as well as a bevy of fresh-squeezed and pressed juices. Because a mid-afternoon gourmet waffle snack definitely deserves a hand-pressed juice.
