Trader Joe’s Coupons 2014
Trader Joe’s started out as a Pasadena, California convenience store chain called Pronto Markets in 1958. The original owner went by the name Trader Joe, and the stores have been known as Trader Joe’s since 1967. In 1972, the company began selling its first private label product – granola – opening the door to a large line of low-priced natural food products. Trader Joe’s began expanding across California in the ‘80s, and started moving East in the ‘90s. Today, Trader Joe’s has over 300 stores all over the country.
Trader Joe’s remains a privately-held company with labels such as Trader Jose’s, Trade Giotto’s, and Trader Ming’s, selling quality foods at low prices.
Trader Joe’s Products
Trader Joe’s sells a combination of their own lines of products and products from vendors that fit the chain’s goal of providing “innovative, hard-to-find, great-tasting foods.” Products include packaged foods such as cereal and pasta; a variety of breads and baked goods; cheese; fresh and frozen meats, seafood and poultry; produce; canned goods; gourmet chocolate; and affordable gourmet and ethnic items. In addition, Trader Joe’s sells wine and beer (in states that allow its sale in groceries), non-alcoholic gourmet beverages, vitamins and energy bars, pet food, and cleaning supplies.
