Experience an adventure that is great for beginners of all ages and those who love nature, conveniently located right here in the City of Toronto! This program includes a beginners Kayak or Canoe lesson & guided two-hour adventure on one of two rivers: Toronto’s scenic Humber River located a 10 Minute walk from Old Mill TTC station and Scarborough’s scenic Rouge River, parking available. At this event, we provide you with a beginners paddling lesson before you launch your kayak or canoe. On the water, our experienced guides are there to help you as you enjoy Toronto’s beautiful Humber River or Rouge River. This is a two hour adventure designed to make you comfortable in a kayak or canoe on calm water. The Humber and Rouge Rivers are slow moving picturesque rivers that meander through forest and marsh. On this adventure, we will see plants and wildlife rarely seen in the city. We often see more wildlife on the these rivers then we would see on our trips to Algonquin Park. Regular sights include Canada geese, swans, ducks, white egrets, blue herons, night herons, cormorants, many types of raptors, beavers, minks, muskrats, deer, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, salmon, trout, carp, bass, catfish, and many types of turtles. “Great adventure! Felt like paddling in the wilds of Ontario rather than in the City. Loved the marshes & the wildlife...egrets, Great Blue Herons, cormorants, and more. HUGE KUDOS to our excellent guide, Will. He was knowledgeable, patient, professional, helpful and looked after all of us (quite a feat as we were all at different levels and purposes). Thanks again for this awesome experience. Looking forward to doing it again!“- Inge Roach, Kingsmill Park, Humber River"You are awesome!!! I went kayaking on the Humber twice last Fall and it was amazing! Thanks for providing this opportunity. I love the water and to be right in the middle of nature like that was so relaxing and absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to try out the rest of the trips you have to offer this summer."- Christin"It was well organized. The guides were helpful and knowledgeable and sincere. They really made the day so enjoyable. I will be recommending this tour to friends and family. It was a wonderful day! Thank you."- Michelle G.
