The Taste Presented by the Los Angeles Times and Food & Wine Coupons and Deals
With its inaugural event last year, the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival not only paired together the country's top chefs with a sincere amount of celebrity power, it also managed to raise some $400,000 for St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. Now back for its second iteration, this year's festival spans the entire town—Santa Monica, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Downtown L.A. LIVE—and fills August 9 through 12 with cooking classes, tastings, demonstrations, entertainment, and more from some 100 sommeliers and around 140 chefs. Experience the cream of the crop with this week's exclusive Gourmet offer: VIP entry for the price of general admission to your choice of three of the festival's top events. On August 12 from noon to 3 p.m., enjoy an upgraded VIP pass for LivingSocial members only—including early entry and access to a private lounge—to the Lexus Grand Tasting at the Event Deck at L.A. LIVE ($150, including gratuity and all other fees). This Sunday afternoon event brings together more than 30 chefs and some 300 wines from the world's best producers for a decadent tasting. Chefs include Gale Gand (Tru), Brian Malarkey (Searsucker), Mark Peel (Campanile Restaurant), and more. On August 9 at 7 p.m., join Giada de Laurentiis—star of the Food Network's Giada at Home—and upgrade to a VIP pass for LivingSocial members only to Giada's Festa Italiana, an evening among some of the city's best Italian cuisine ($195, including gratuity and all other fees). A slew of chefs—including Michael Chiarello (Bottega Napa Valley), Antonia Lofaso (Terroni), Matt Molina (Osteria Mozza), and many more—will be on hand plating their own signature dishes while more than two hundred wines from around the world will be poured alongside top brews and spirits. With your VIP pass, you'll enjoy early entry to the event, plus access to a designated lounge. On August 10, head to the Fairmont Miramar Hotel at 7 p.m. to join host Graham Elliot—co-star of Fox's Master Chef and owner of aptly named Chicago restaurant, Graham Elliot—for an upgraded VIP entry for LivingSocial members only to the Summer at the Shore event ($150, including gratuity and all other fees). Enjoy early entry to this event, where you'll sample the best of the shore living—from a stellar selection of California wines to plates from some of our state's most notable chefs, including Top Chef Master Kerry Heffernan, Michael's Executive Chef John-Carlos Kuramoto, and more.
