Whether you're the traditional type (think old school Inman Park), love cutting-edge contemporary style (think up whatever you like – they'll custom build it for you) or fall anywhere in between, this Edgewood Avenue fixture carries the full spectrum. Lighting designer and owner Yaacov Golan has spend the past six of his 30 years in the business here; after getting his start in lighting at the Israel Museum, he lit up Silicon Valley before moving his business from Cali to the ATL. Oh, and he just opened a stunning Miami Circle showroom, too. Thankfully, he’s still keeping the lights on (and how!) at the original location. I wouldn't say I'm a lighting devotee, but I've definitely earned my fair share of angry honks for slowing to a window-shopping crawl when driving past the Edgewood storefront. You've seen it—it's the solid wall of glass filled floor to ceiling with proudly illuminated chandeliers, torchiers, pendants, sconces, desk lamps, lighted mirrors and the like. There's just something about that enchanting twinkle that makes me want a closer look. Maybe I'm part moth (doubtful) or maybe I just appreciate the megawatt impact of well-designed lighting solutions. Either way, I warn you—shopping here (window or otherwise) can be habit-forming.
