Scout Notes: Located on the historic Belle Meade Plantation, Harding House's seasonally changing lunch/brunch menu features some of the best Southern cuisine in the area. Nathanial Beaver and Tabor Luckey (some of the same folks who brought you Whitfield's and Bria) opened Harding House in April 2011. Tabor also serves as the restaurant's executive chef. Harding House's lunch menu offers a bit of everything, from salads and sandwiches to soups and specialty entrees. If you're feeling adventurous, go with our personal favorite, the Bell Meade sandwich (a panini-style sandwich with fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula). Not into fried green tomatoes? We're also big fans of the turkey and Brie sandwich. On the weekends, Harding House offers all the brunch basics, as well as a few specialty items like the restaurant's most popular dish, the corned beef potatoes (house cured Painted Hills corned beef, poached eggs, and mustard horseradish served over home fries). We'd also venture to say that Harding House has one of the best Bloody Mary's we've ever had. We suspect it has something to do with their house-infused vodkas (they offer cucumber, as well as a three-pepper vodka). Good stuff.
