Oh, I’m also so local that you can order a salad with greens picked straight from the garden right before you eat them. And I might possibly serve the best burgers in town. You got it! Stock and Barrel, the new word- of-mouth only (shhhh) extremely local, extremely sweet, and strangely international restaurant on Division. And by international, we mean this place feels like walking into a cabana in Italia. Before Josh and Ryan turned it into the amazing burger and “happy place” that it is today, it was home to a bird bath factory, helping to keep Portland’s bird population squeaky clean. Take the quirkiness of that idea and give it a face lift, a burgeoning garden, and a plethora of all-organic burgers, and call it an evening to remember. Oh wait, wait! PUT A BURGER ON IT! You heard it here first, folks. But maybe you should grab ten or twenty napkins and put that burger (laden with caramelized onions, cheese, tomatoes, Chipotle, truffle aioli) and put it in your stomach. Try the Little Bird: it’s a sweet slider with all of the above plus a quail’s egg on top, served open-faced so you can see just how beautiful it is. Or try the Heirloom Burger, with tomatoes picked from the garden before they’re sliced onto your plate. Or try everything on the menu: it’s all local, handmade, mostly organic, and delicious.
