Scout Notes: There might not be a better way to de-stress about running into metaphorical obstacles than by literally climbing some physical ones. Enter Sportrock, a HUGE space filled with 40-foot rock walls, manmade crags for bouldering and a whole slew of good-looking individuals ready to help you learn. And now, with this Scoutmob, first-timers can do so for 50 percent off. Here's what to expect: after you sign your life away (kidding, Sportrock takes safety incredibly seriously), you will get fitted for your equipment; after that, you'll learn the basics; and before you know it, you'll be scaling an indoor mountain. "The goal at the end of the two-hour lesson is that new climbers will be able to pass a belay test so they can come in and use the gym without an instructor," said Genie, one of the gym's directors. If you're experienced already, but have somehow never been to Sportrock, you're invited to try out the gym with this Scoutmob discount, too. Take as many climbs as your body will allow either on the larger walls with ropes or the boulders, or come with a few friends and belay the night away.
