At Spiced Right in Suwanee, you'll certainly get your fill—but sans elbow-sticking griminess. This 25-years-young family establishment runs a clean, smoked ship, and slings some of the meanest Texan and Southern influenced 'que around. 'Que that you can easily enjoy while nestled amongst their ample, mono-colored black booths and tables. But don't think that this is just another dark, dingy BBQ hub—the place is full of windows that let the light stream right on in. The secret? It's in the seasoning, folks. At Spiced Right, they smoke all of the goods (brisket and pulled pork and chicken, oh my!) low and slow, in the traditional Southern style, with a signature seasoned salt. If you've been looking for smoked meats that can stand alone—friend, your quest is through. It might have to do with the hours upon hours of preparation, or it might be the high-quality meats and big ol' 4.5-inch buns—all we know is that we're smitten. The Spiced Right sauce, while utterly delicious, is more of an accessory than statement piece, and every side is also prepared from scratch, including the ever-popular banana pudding (a family recipe, in fact). But be wary, fellow omnivores—things sell out mighty fast at Spiced Right because, well, these aren't the types of foodstuffs that can be whipped up in a frying pan. Thank goodness.
