Jamshed Syed came to the United States to earn his master's degree, but long study sessions soon had him homesick for the food of his native Pakistan. So between hitting the books, he learned how to recreate the same dishes of his homeland, and in 2010, he opened the doors to Shezan. Nestled in the heart of downtown Mountain View, you'll find Syed's favorite childhood meals (inspired by his mother's recipes) as well as his own refined spin on classic dishes from Pakistan and north India. Try the chef's award-winning Karahi Kababs for a sublime serving of beef, but if you like your meat falling off the bone, get the juicy Tandoori Lamb Chops. No meal would be complete without a side of naan to sop up every last bite—but be warned: With Shezan’s warm, inviting, chandelier-lit dining room, you’ll find it hard to leave, even when your plates are cleared.
