Sand in the City Coupons and Deals
Description
They say that a house built on sand cannot stand. But we say that a festival built on sand castles can stand out as one of Portland's best celebrations. Build the 17th annual Sand in the City festival into your schedule with today's deal: a three-day family pass, two kids' face painting sessions, and one root beer float for $21 (regularly $42). Held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on July 20-22 at Pioneer Courthouse Square, this sand-tastic event features mind-blowing sand sculptures made by local teams using 450 tons of sand and 4,500 gallons of water. Watch the Friday competition and award ceremony (featuring Amy Roloff of TLC's Little People, Big World), admire the magnificent sculptures, and enjoy on-site food, live entertainment, and kids' games and inflatables. On Sunday, July 22, watch the sculptures be demolished in a spectacle as grand as the castles themselves. This annual event benefits Impact NW's programs for at-risk youth, including the Kids on the Block Awareness Program -- so while the sand castles will crumble, the positive effects on our community will last forever.
