A brand new Italian restaurant in New York's Flatiron district, Tre Stelle combines authentic regional cuisine from the Italian Riviera with a contemporary approach of serving lighter, healthier fare with no heavy creams, sunflower oil used for frying and extra virgin olive oil from Chef Stefano Ferro's hometown of Liguria. Start with classic "Dolce Vita" cocktails while you sample gourmet plates at the Aperitivo Milanese bar, then take a seat in the eclectic dining room and prepare to be wowed by the extensive selection of sumptuous delights. Dig into delicious pastas, meats and fish, with customer favorites the likes of Gnocchi with fresh tomatoes and shrimp in almond sauce, and Octopus Salad with mango, grapes, and basil. Top it off with a sinfully delicious dessert, such as the Semifreddo chocolate cake with English cream and ice cream along with an espresso or a dessert wine and you'll think you've died and been reincarnated in Italy! Serving a Power Breakfast starting daily at 7 am, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, Tre Stelle is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, family meal or social gathering, and also provides free WiFi on the premises.

Scout Notes:It's common knowledge that drinking heavily usually leads to bad decisions. Luckily, for the three friends behind Tre Stelle, it also lead to them opening a restaurant here in New York. What was supposed to be a normal trip to the Big Apple, ended with the three guys returning to Italy having apparently opened a restaurant! And while the actual details in between are a little hazy (at least they're not telling us), it can be agreed that this is one decision they're not regretting. The space is a cool, modern bar and dining room on a quietly chic street just west of Madison Park. Walk past the well-lit bar to the hostess stand, and you'll be seated in the back dining room, underneath giant, ovular lamps hanging against a cool grey design scheme. The menu is rustic Italian, with anitpasti like Caprese con Mozzarella Di Bufala, Filet mignon tartar, and various local cheese and meat plates. For mains, hit the pasta choices like Fettuccine al Gamberi with shrimp in a white sauce with grape tomatoes, Gnocchi with lamb and a bitter chocolate sauce, or Fettuccine Primavera. If there's ever a question about how to find the place, just look for the white Fiat that is always parked out front. Let's hope the guys don't drive it home after work. Menu Highlights: Fried Calamari, $10 Caprese Salad, $15 La Carbonara, $18 Hours: Sun-Thurs, 7am-12am (kitchen closes at 10:30pm) Fri-Sat, 7am-12am (kitchen closes at 11:00pm)
