Sal's Family Pizza Coupons and Deals
Ron "Sal" Servidio and his wife, Tanya, know a thing or two about pizza. Ron grew up in Connecticut and began working in his family's Italian restaurant at age 10, and Tanya grew up in Brooklyn and Long Island around the hand-tossed awesomeness that is New York-style pizza. Although they moved to Tennessee in 1994 and describe themselves as "Southerners at heart," their longtime dream of opening their own family run/family-friendly New York-style pizza parlor never faded. And lucky for us, two years ago, that dream became a reality when Sal's Family Pizza opened for business. Located in Franklin, everything at Sal's—including the pizza dough, sauce and meatballs—is made entirely from scratch using family recipes. And Ron and Tanya's genuine love of entertaining/feeding people (they view their restaurant as an extension of their home) was evident the moment we walked through the door. They made us feel right at home. The family-friendly atmosphere is further enhanced by the fact that the Servidio's four children are involved in the biz, makin' pizzas and takin' orders at Sal's. Speaking of those pizzas, with tons of toppings to add, things never get boring. And while the pizza is the main star here, don't ignore the sandwiches and other items on the menu. The meatball sub is seriously delicious (maybe even the best we've had—ever) and the Antipasto salad (a mountain of meat, vegetables and cheese) ain't bad either. In fact, it's divine. Split it if you plan to order a pizza, though, 'cause this dish is big enough to be a meal on its own. Menu Highlights: Antipasto Salad, $8.49 12" Eggplant Parmigiana, $7.49 Extra Large Cheese Pizza, $16 Homemade Meat Lasagna, $9.99 Hours: Monday - Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, noon to 8 p.m.
