To see those talented canines in action, hit up the 18th annual Rural Hill Sheep Dog Trials and Dog Festival in Huntersville. For $20 (regularly $42), score admission for two adults and two children to the event; you'll also get to enjoy a hayride while you're there. Bring your fam to pastoral Rural Hill on November 10 or 11 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to witness herding competitions featuring border collies and their handlers. Watch as these dogs are spurred on to shepherding a group of sheep into a pen through the use of voice commands and whistles.
