SCOUT NOTES: I’m just gonna put it out there: when I left Paragon Salon, I was kind of sad that they hadn’t offered me a job (an unwarranted emotion, seeing as I hadn’t applied for one and have zero hair styling experience). There was just something about this place that had me wanting to come back again tomorrow (and the next day). With a second-story view overlooking Peachtree and an ambience that screams urban oasis, you can enjoy a glass of vino while your color processes. If a view of the Biltmore doesn’t do it for you, there’s always the TV screen built into the mirror to keep you entertained. And while all of that is just fine and dandy (well, actually it’s pretty freaking awesome), what really had me yearning for a part-time job as a shampoo girl was the staff. Co-owners Benjamin and Joseph are doing it right—supplying their tenured team (many have been on board since the shop opened almost 11 years ago) with the encouragement and education necessary to provide you with the best cut, color and experience possible. So, yeah—getting your hair done there ain’t too shabby an experience. Led by Joseph (whose prior salon experience includes a stint at Van Michael), the team is one of Atlanta’s most-skilled. Home to an ABCH-certified colorist (there are less than 20 of them in the entire state!) and a squad of stylists that’s as talented as they are fun/awesome/good looking, you’re sure not to leave disappointed/crying/demanding a refund.
