To inaugurate his first season as principal conductor and artistic director of the Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal, Jean-Marie Zeitouni invites the public to the opening concert of its 2012-2013 Downtown Series, Miroirs de lâenfance (Mirrors of Childhood). To mark the occasion, the maestro has invited soprano Hélène Guilmette to showcase her exceptionally pure and brilliant voice.  For $36 you obtain a ticket for the September 28th concert of Mirrors of Childhood performed by the Orchestre de Chambre I Musici de Montréal ($72 value).  To highlight this celebration of childhood, Jean-Marie Zeitouni has put together a program of works by Ravel, Mahler and Barber: Ravel recreates the magical atmosphere of the Contes de Ma Mère lâOye, while Mahler and Barber give the children a voice. With poetry in his heart, Barberâs child describes the atmosphere on a summerâs eve outside his home in Knoxville, while the child in Symphony no. 4 by Mahler casts an innocent look at everyday life in paradise.  Founded in 1983, the Orchestre de chamber I Musici de Montréal brings together 15 musicians whose repertoire varies from baroque to contemporary music. Jean-Marie Zeitouni, recognized for is expressive and convincing style, is its Principal Conductor and Artistic Director. I Musiciâs particularity is first and foremost the great passion which lies in the heart of its exceptionally talented musicians. Through its different events, the ensemble makes room for emerging Canadian talent and associates itself with renowned artists, from Canada and abroad, and creates partnerships and synergies with other musical ensembles. She won the second prize of Belgiumâs prestigious Concours International Reine Ãlisabeth in 2004. In the company of Andreas Scholl, with whom she recorded Haendelâs Duello Amoroso (2007), she performed last Summer at the Istanbul Festival, Schwarzenbergâs Schubertiades in Austria, as well as the Stabat Mater de Pergolisi at the Theatre des Champs-Ãlysées and for the 25th anniversary of the Violons du Roy in Quebec City. Her discography includes Airs Chantés (2005) with melodies from Poulenc, Hahn and Daunais and Haendelâs Dixit Dominus / Ode for the Anniversary of Queen Anne (2009) with Berlinâs Academie für Alte Musik.
