Punk rockers and politicians groom side-by-side at Orbit Salon, located in a converted 1920s home in the ECCO district. The stylists are self-described hair designers, makeup mavens, eyebrow aficionados, and style visionaries: they continually train in the newest techniques to stay a cut above the rest. Each stylist has a range of specialties, from layered cuts and blondes to meticulous facial waxing and taming-untameable-curls—but they all share the goal of making people gorgeous. Whether it’s time for a brow wax ($19), some jazzy feather extensions ($25+), any hair service imaginable or just a good scalp massage (drool-inducing, be careful), prepare to beautify in a place that’s chill, funky and unpretentious all at the same time...kinda like this one city in Texas...

Since its inception 12 years ago, Orbit strives to make each customer's experience relaxed, warm and welcomed. Evidence of this includes the friendly staff, funky decor and multitude of local artwork hanging on the brightly colored walls. The owners and staff love and support the creative community of East Austin and it shows in their practice. Orbit boasts one of Central Texas' premier dreadlock experts, Kevin Murphy's hot color bugs and both regular and express Keratin treatment.
