O’Charley’s Coupons 2014

The first O’Charley’s restaurant was opened by Charlie Watkins in 1969. 15 years later in 1984, the single location was sold to David K. Wachtel, who turned it into a regional chain, with multiple locations in the Southeastern United States. The company went public in 1990, as consumers started turning away from restaurants with huge menus that were difficult to execute consistently. O’Charley’s cut their menu in half and started making more items from scratch in 1991. Wachtel left the company in 1994.

In the early 2000s, the company purchased the Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub and Stoney River Legendary Steaks chains. O’Charley’s now owns 260 restaurants and counting in the Southeast, Midwest, and New England.
