Things have gotten a little too technological these days with all the thingamjigs and whatyamacallits. Take a trip back to simpler times and some good old-fashioned machinery with today's deal from the Nowthen Historical Power Association and the Nowthen Threshing Show. Pay $8 (regularly $16) for a one-day family admission or $14 (regularly $28) for a three-day family pass. Family admission includes two adults and two children under age 18; additional kids 12 and younger are free. Few things are as made to last as the antique tractors, steam engines, and classic cars you'll find at this horse-powered event, running August 17 to 19. This 40-year-old Nowthen Historical Power Association exhibition will also have demonstrations in corn chopping, blacksmithing, and grain threshing for the main event; delicious eats; and live music. Wander the grounds or grab a seat and each day the Parade of Power will roll right by you.
