Scout Notes: There's something to be said for service with a smile. And at Ngam, the staff takes that something to heart. The restaurant, named for the Thai word for beautiful (and the owner's name, Ngamprom), exudes happiness from just about every corner possible. The interior showcases quotes from Julia Child, the word "LOVE" in bare-bulbed exuberance and there are happy photos from Ngamprom's childhood throughout. The staff is friendly and warm and acts as if they actually want to serve you, and the food? Well, it's clear the food was made with love, too. The menu changes four times per year to keep things fresh and seasonal, plus, with a new brunch menu that gives a Thai twist to some American classics, there's a few more reasons to come here. Think coconut chicken and waffles, egg dishes infused with Thai chilis and Thai Tea French Toast, drizzled with condensed milk, basil syrup and poached peasr. Not to be left out, the brunch drinks also get a new spin. We're especially fans of the Thai Bloody Mary and the orange and ginger Mimosas. If an orange and ginger Mimosa doesn't say love, we don't know what does.
