Fancy food is fine, but from time to time, you’ve just got to get a hot dog. Get into the good ‘n’ greasy at Overland Park’s New York Dawg Pound, where you’ll use a punch card to purchase 10 unique dogs, er, “dawgs.” Start with the base of a classic hot dog, bratwurst, Italian or Polish sausage, or veggie dog, and then get down to business picking your favorite toppings. If you’re feeling breakfast, dig into a bacon, egg, and cheese-covered Yankee Poodle. If you have a craving for an unconventional dog, try a decadent peanut butter and bacon-topped Goofy Dawg. Add on a side of savory sweet potato waffle fries or crispy onion straws to perfectly complement your satisfying sausage. Then kick back and pat your full belly—hot dogs are the new “haute” cuisine.

Went with a large group and no one knew what they wanted in the middle of Saturday's lunch rush and NONE of our commotion flustered the service. Between all of us we had 4 or 5 different types of hot dogs and assorted buns. We also had fries, onion straws and the city's BEST waffle sweet potato fries. Really-really good food. Absolutely LOVE the poppy seed buns! Go and try it out!Stephanie on YelpWas really excited to see a hot dog place in the area with Nathan's dogs. They are from all beef sirloin. Really the only way to eat a hot dog. There are vegetarian options though. You can get a carrot dog in any of the options just like the meat. They also have black bean veggie burgers! My favorite style is Chicago, no relish. Mmmm, I just love those flavors! The sides are fantastic! I have only tried the sweet potato fries and the onion straws.
