Nautical Nest Cafe & Deli Coupons and Deals
Scout Notes: You wish you could be eating a sandwich on the beach right now. (Join the club.) But if that’s not exactly on the agenda for your next lunch hour, you can at least chow down on a fresh, hearty sammie in a café that feels like the coast. Captain, er, co-owner Chris Ess took his love for all things by-the-sea to create the Nautical Nest, a cozy retreat with pastel hues, dark wood, and all the finest novelty knickknacks you’d find in a beach cottage--lighthouses, ship replicas, anchor hanging on the wall, treasure chests (booty not included). Chill tunes from the likes of Bob Marley and Jack Johnson set the mood while you decide on selections like The Stern (my personal favorite) or the Knotty Buoy, a take on the classic Reuben (corned beef or pastrami, sauerkraut, swiss cheese with homemade nautical nest sauce, and toasted with seeded or marble rye bread), all made with high-quality Boar’s Head meats. You can also get on board with daily specials, and know that the menu is always evolving due to customer requests; in just a little over a year, The Nest has gained quite a few regulars and Cap'n Chris seems to know ’em all. And they know the menu pretty darn well, too. One regular sauntered in, and exclaimed: "ahhh, let's go with the Galley today, Chris." But if it’s not a sandwich you want to sink your teeth into (we’ll try not to judge), the wraps, salads and fruit plate are as refreshing as a dip in the ocean on a hot day. Mouthwatering desserts like cannolis, eclairs and cheesecake (and cupcakes) are made in house and breakfast is served all day long every day (a daydream come true). Oh, and between you and me: they've recently added some beverages of the adult variety – that's right, wine and local brews for your imbibing pleasure. As if it didn’t feel like vacation enough already.
