Scout Notes: Located on the cusp of downtown and East Nashville, Myridia’s casual, restaurant/lounge atmosphere is a refreshing addition to the Nashville nightlife scene. While the space is large, the seating is situated in a way that allows guests the opportunity to mingle with one another. And the environment, while casual, maintains a certain energy that can make an otherwise boring night feel special. Oh, and there’s free parking (like 50 spaces) in the building’s garage, which for us, pretty much solidifies Myridia’s awesomeness. For Kaz Hishida, Myridia’s owner, working in the hospitality industry just makes sense. Kaz and his father are former owners of the Cummins Station restaurant, Kazu. When Kaz’s father decided he no longer wanted to own his own restaurant and closed Kazu in 2008, Kaz decided it was time to branch out on his own and in April 2012, Myridia opened for business. If you were a big Kazu fan, you’ll be happy to know that several of Myridia’s menu items, like the Teriyaki Bowl (our favorite) and Nutty Apple Salad, are old Kazu recipes. Just looking for a place to grab a drink? Myridia offers over 40 bottled beers, 26 bottles of wine, and an array of specialty cocktails (the habanero mango martini is ridiculously good). Myridia also does weekend brunch, complete with bottomless mimosas and brunch basics, like cheddar grits and rosemary hash browns.
