Your instructor will begin with a lesson on the parts of a handgun, types of ammunition, and proper storage. Then you'll switch to hands-on learning as you focus on loading and unloading live ammunition properly. You'll also cover some of the legal issues associated with carrying a gun, such as storage and the permissible use of a firearm. Finally, test your shooting accuracy while firing in a police simulator. Using the same HD technology as the police do, you'll learn the fundamentals of shooting through computerized laser targeting, which allows you to improve your aim in complete safety. Located right off the highway on Washington Street in Woburn, this Massachusetts State Police and NRA-certified class teaches the secure and legal basics of handling, loading, transporting, storing, and firing a handgun in a classroom setting. Classes are taught every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and every Saturday at 9 a.m., leaving you plenty of opportunity to round up some practice.
