Description
The Paul Taylor Dance Company returns to Lincoln Center after its record-breaking 2012 appearance, with a pair of premieres by the influential choreographer, plus celebrations of the 50th anniversary of "Scudorama", the 25th anniversaries of "Brandenburgs" and "Speaking in Tongues" and the return of his acclaimed "Le Sacre du Printemps (The rehearsal)". "Perpetual Dawn" is a celebration of young love and Taylor's 138th original modern-dance creation, while the New York premiere of 2012's "To Make Crops Grow" depicts a group of villagers bringing back an ancient ritual. Each program also features one of Taylor's six masterworks set to music by Bach, and dances from every decade since the 1950s. Whichever shows you attend, though, you'll find that Taylor's entertaining and engaging pieces are often seriously funny and cunningly reflective of American cultural history. Please see the full event description for the schedule of works.
