And thankfully they did, because now we have Landbrot, which recently opened in the West Village. An ode to Germany's rich culinary traditions and hearty spirit, Landbrot offers a wide variety of traditional baked breads, pastries, and pretzels (!!!) all made in house on a daily basis. Where others might have stopped there, Landbrot keeps the traditional fare coming and also offers up delicious opened faces and regular sandwiches on country bread (or… landbrot!), a long list of brats and hot dogs, and ample sides such as Cucumber Salat, Swabian Potato, and German Kraut Salat. To wash it all down? Grab one of their 8 exclusive German beers that you won't find anywhere else, or pour a glass of wine from their mostly-German selection.
