For $15, Travelzoo subscribers can learn to cook gourmet dishes from chef Carmen Trigueros, who appeared at this year's South Beach Wine & Food Festival and has had recipes featured in Gourmet and Bon Appetit magazines. Regularly $30 per person, the classes are held at La Cava, Chef Trigueros' private dining room in Coconut Grove.This month, the class has a holiday theme and takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m., with additional dates available based on demand. In this two-hour class, participants will learn to make gingerbread men, holiday cakes and other seasonal treats, while the wine expert from the adjacent La Bottega will suggest pairings and offer samples. Students will go home with the treats made in class as well as recipes and wine-pairing tips.Class topics change monthly; in January, learn to cook healthy gourmet meals to support New Year's weight loss goals.
