Scout Notes:It's always amazing to us that you can turn pretty much any corner in this city and find something you never noticed before. Thus was our experience with Inti. Stumbling into their brightly painted dining room on a rainy afternoon was just what we need to turn our mood around. The place is spotless and friendly, with a staff that was eager to please. This neighborhood joint sees mostly foot traffic and locals from nearby, so they're expecting you to be a little disheveled. The Peruvian menu reads like a "Best Of" list of Latin American staples, including our personal faves Empanadas and Ceviche Mixto so fresh we might as well have been on the beach. If you're looking for something new, definitely order up the Causa de Cangrejos, a mashed yellow potato with layers of Peruvian style crab meat, avocado, and onion. For entrees that'll make you feel like you're at a Peruvian BBQ check out the Banquete Inti, a whole rotisserie chicken with rice, beans, and sweet fried plantains. Or Arroz con Mariscos (seafood rice) if you're sticking to fresh seafood. They don't have a liquor license yet, but if you're in the mood for something sweet, do not miss the Chicha Morada, a sweet purple corn drink that is a Peruvian delight, and made in-house (also an excellent mixer since they're BYOB!).
