The humble little restaurant on Holcomb Bridge has been capturing Roswell's collective heart since 1998, luring visitors in with the scent of freshly-baked (tandoor'd?) naan wafting about. Legend has it that on a clear night, you can smell it all the way down in Buckhead. Well, maybe not, but one thing is true: the Indian Chef at India Chef has been Indian-cheffing it for a long, long time, bringing the north 'burbs a taste of Northern India for nearly fifteen years. The proof is in the pudding. The rice pudding, that is. Rich. Warm. Spicy. But not hot! (Unless you want it to be.) While Indian food is obviously delicious year-round, the heady combination of flavors and spices like cumin, turmeric, and coriander seem to be tailor-made for cool weather. And for our gullets. India Chef's dishes warm up your taste buds without setting them aflame -- unless you're looking to dial it up, in which case they're more than happy to accommodate. But for most of us, a fluffy, warm piece of naan alongside a bowl of tikka masala ("the best in town", according to owner and manager Hafiz -- and many of those who try it) hits the spot in a way that only good, fresh Indian food really can.
