Scout Notes: Even as the Colorado Rockies continue to languish at the bottom of their division, there are still plenty of exciting hits in LoDo this season. A new crop of restaurants offering enticing, affordable fare has opened its doors around Coors Field this summer and Chino Latino is the latest to step up to the plate. Their starting lineup is a focused corps of yummy Mexican street-style tacos brought to you by the team who launched its next-door neighbor, i-Fish Japanese Grill. If the logical leap from sushi to salsa seems like a stretch of Armstrongian proportions... well, that's because it is. Even so, it's a maneuver that totally works thanks to a tight, tasty list of offerings. Chino Latino keeps the menu simple with only a few starters (like the lime-lathered ceviche), a pair of closers (churros or fried ice cream) and a strong middle in the rotation consisting of six types of tacos. Word is that the braised lengua and the carne asada are where it's at, but conducting your own "research" is half the fun. There are also more than twenty-five tequilas at your disposal if you need something to take the bite off the three varieties of house-made salsa . With shots starting at just three bucks a pop they'll be going, going, gone. Menu Highlights: Ceviche, two for $6 Carne asada de Chihuahua tacos, three for $6 Lengua de Monterrey tacos, three for $6 Fried ice cream, $6 Hours: Monday - Thursday, 11:30 am - 10:30 pm Friday - Saturday, 10:30 am - 2 am Sunday, 11:00 am - 10:00 pm
