Made from "AA Ribeye" fresh cut provolone, grilled green peppers, mushrooms & onions and "cheez whiz," these authentic sandwiches are oozing with flavour and history. In a straightforward move, the Stevenson family went to Philadelphia visiting the ever-famous Pat's and Geno's, and fell in love with the Philly cheesesteak sandwich.Julie and Jack Stevenson, the owners of the shop they come in early every morning to prepare everything fresh for the day. Their sons Frankie and Peter, and nephew Da Vinci man the counter and kitchen well into the night; which means 10pm on weekdays, and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.The interior is a nod to the American origins of the sandwich with a wall covered in American dollar bills but there are some Canadian flags hanging around the place as well. The restaurant itself is fairly quaint and intimate and everything is grilled before your eyes on their large griddle. It's a beautiful sandwich. The white Italian bun is soft and holds up against the weight of its filling, the steak is cooked and seasoned perfectly, and there's an ample supply of vegetables. To top it off they offer additional slices of Americana with beverages, desserts, and home cut fries that good old American feel.I Went To Philly will revolutionize the way you think of authentic sandwiches in a welcoming dining experience. If only you could fit them into your room your collection would be complete. The loaded sandwich comes with a healthy portion of meat and caramelized onions, in addition to the standard cheez whiz topping. It's so amazing I find myself racing to finish every morsel! One order of fries is enough for a family, especially after consuming an entire cheesesteak. They're equally as delicious and full of flavour.
