Scout Notes: It seems cold(ish) weather may be here to stay. And while we’re pretty stoked about it (fall/winter in Nashville is pretty magical), we’re not too excited about the effect it can have on our hair. Hydrate as we might, the cool, dry weather really sucks the moisture out of our hair, causing an enormous amount of static (we pretty much walk around all winter looking like this). Lucky for us (and you), the folks at Harlow—an Old Hollywood themed salon on Historic Music Row—are ready to tame those unruly tresses. Harlow owners Eva Clarke and Shana Dyer met in 1999 at a large day spa where they were both employed as stylists. Over the years, they became close friends (their stations were right next to each other), and in 2007 they decided to go into business together and opened Harlow, an upscale (but not uptight) full-service hair salon offering everything from haircuts and extensions to color services and Brazilian blowouts (they have six certified Brazilian blowout specialists). In addition to salon services, Harlow also carries Nevo, Tigi, and Brazilian Blowout hair care products. Our favorite line, Nevo, is gluten-free, organic, biodegradable, and vegan. And if you plant the box the products are packaged in…they totally grow flowers. Cool stuff.
