Irish Catholic playwright Cathal Gallagher penned this engrossing 2007 drama based on the true story of a British journalist whose life underwent a profound change after meeting Mother Teresa. Initially attracted to the Bolshevik ideals of the '20s and '30s, a staunchly liberal Malcolm Muggeridge was bitterly disappointed and disillusioned to find millions of people starving in the Ukraine under the strong-arm rule of Stalin. But it's only years later, when the BBC host interviews the then-little-known nun, that he takes the first steps of his own deeply spiritual journey. Muggeridge is often credited with bringing Mother Teresa -- and her tending of the poor and starving -- to worldwide fame through his subsequent 1969 documentary "Something Beautiful for God" and book of the same name. The A.D. Players present this regional-premiere production.
