Westwood takes a mature step in the culinary direction, with this gallery-like shoebox of a restaurant creating approachable New American dishes. There's always a seasonal salad, which currently features baby greens, pomegranate seeds, and fresh herbs tossed in Banyuls vinaigrette. Carrot risotto and house-made tagliatelle live on the menu as comfort favorites for the neighborhood regulars. Entrées feel like a nice balance between fine dining and comfort food; a striped bass is seared quickly skin-side and served over al dente cannellini beans in a mushroom broth, while the boeuf burger is a seriously rich hand-ground specimen of aged beef that simply gets a smear of garlic aioli, some blue cheese, and bread-and-butter pickles amid two brioche buns. Wine and beer are no afterthought; old world selections come by glass, bottle, or flight while craft beers come chilled in a bottle.
