Scout Notes: It's like we're back in the '80s (and I'm not talking about the fact that Pat Benetar is still touring): frozen yogurt is back in a huge way. With froyo shops popping up on nearly every corner, it might seem like once you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. Until you walk in to Frutella, that is. We're betting none of those dime-a-dozen froyo joints stock yogurt flavors like soursop, lulo, tamarind, and passionfruit alongside the cookies 'n cream, do they? How about laying out a spread of toppings that includes lychee, papaya, and kiwis right next to your standard sweets? Nay, Frutella isn't vanilla. (Though they do offer that for purists.) Then again, neither is the Old Fourth Ward, is it? That's exactly why Angela set up shop on this particular stretch of sidewalk: she knew that her neighbors would dig something a little different. So, she decided to offer the 'hood a place where they could indulge their sweet tooth without plummeting into a shame-spiral. The frozen goods here are free of fat, hormones, and guilt, chock-full of real fruit, yogurt made in-house each day, and delicious flavor: a match made in heaven if we've ever seen one.
