The Issue: Inability to Afford New School Supplies Children from low-income families or who are experiencing homelessness often cannot afford the basic items they need to start each school year, such as backpacks, paper, and shoes that fit. Coming to school without these items can lower their self-esteem and make it more difficult for them to study in class. The Campaign: Funding Clothes and School Supplies If this Grassroots campaign raises $300, then Friendly House can provide school supplies and new clothes to four low-income youth for one school year.
