Inspired by this, Frida’s Mexican Restaurant has created a menu that marries classic Mexican dishes with regional favorites not commonly found outside Mexico. Sitting down in their intimate, cantina-style dining room, you’ll look up at an enormous glass case containing over 200 bottles of tequila, cognac and wines from Latin American countries. Antonio Pina has been an admirer of the late Frida Kahlo since his days in Junior High School. That is when he first saw her artwork and fell in love with Kahlo's grace, elegance and style.Kahlo started to paint at the age of 18 while hospitalized after a bus accident. She suffered from pain for the rest of her turbulent but colorful life, until her death in 1954 at the age of 47. In 1983, twenty nine years after her death, Kahlo's work was declared the property of Mexico. Along with Kahlo's art came her love of food that so inspired Antonio.
