Family Tradition Coupons and Deals
Scout Notes:Oh the things we'd do, if only we had the time. Read a book. Go for a jog (or not, more accurately). Make a ginormous breakfast and then devour every last nibble. You know, the stuff of life. And at Family Tradition in Canton, they've got that breakfast (lunch and dinner) making down pat. As in, homestyle, cooked-to-order breakfasts that are served from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., they're hearty, Southern, and they practically have a following. As owner Jim explains, "The food we make is just like mom would—if she had the time." And the environment? It reflects this cozy, homey attitude. The restaurant is quiet, modest, clean and legitimately comfy. The food consists, of course, of heaping portions of down-home satisfying deliciousness. Breakfasts include the Western Omelet—stuffed with ham, bacon and sausage (really gives you that protein boost). Or mayhaps the simple Country Ham Breakfast, if a slab o' ham and two eggs is more your style. Either way—there are still sides to choose (no staying neutral when it comes to breakfast). Depending on availability, Family Tradition offers more than 20 fresh veggie sides along with the more conventional comfort foods: biscuits n' grits. But breakfast isn't all they do. Jim talked to us about their countrified dinners and lunches, too. Here you'll find classics like fried chicken, chicken livers and fried green tomatoes. And no matter when you pop in, you're treated like family. They've got the cooking and the cleaning covered. But the devouring? That's up to you. You got this. Might have to unbutton your pantaloons though—ain't no shame in that. Menu Highlights: Western Omelette, $6.99 (includes 2 sides) Pancakes with 2 eggs and meat, $5.99 Chicken Tenders, $8.49 Meat + 2 sides, $6.99 Grilled Pork Chops, $9.95 Hours: Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Closed Sundays
