E'Van's Bake Shop Coupons and Deals
Description
Scout Notes: It's an unofficial fact: oftentimes, the recipes made at home can outshine the fancy-schmanciest of formally trained chefs. And in my humblest of opinions, when it comes to the sweet stuff, this is especially true. The cakes and pies coming out of E'Van's oven are classic, homestyle recipes; the kind your grandma would've fed you if you behaved yourself at the dinner table. And if you need to know exactly how good they taste, just ask Alfonza or his wife E'Van how they got their start. In a nutshell, they decided to chip in to their church's fundraising bake sale with some of their baked goodness. Thousands of dollars later, they kinda figured they were on to something with this whole baking thing. And now, their East Point storefront is going strong into its fourth year, serving up old-school, from-scratch desserts so classic, they might as well be cooling off in Grandma's windowsill. The little mom-and-pop bakeshop consists of a couple tables, counter service, and a display case full of cake slices (think red velvet, lemon cream, strawberry), pies (sweet potato, pecan), and cupcakes. Those individual slices of cake make it easy—dangerously easy—to indulge in some of that sweet, sweet coconut supreme, key lime, triple chocolate, butter cream... need I go on? In short, yes: these are just like Grandma makes 'em. (And definitely worth behaving yourself at supper.) Menu Highlights: Cake Slices, $3.75 Sweet Potato Pie, $3.25 Pecan Pie, $3.75 Cupcakes, $2 Cheesecakes, $3 or 2 for $5.50 Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
