Eat Well Market Coupons and Deals
Scout Notes: First it was cupcakes, then frozen yogurt. Now, it seems we can’t go anywhere without seeing some kind of pimento cheese goodness on a restaurant’s menu. And while some restaurants do it well, we’ve found that many pimento cheese dishes too closely resemble the lumpy stuff our mothers always forced us to eat (you know, the stuff in the grocery store next to the ham salad). If you’re looking for the best pimento cheese (and everything else) in Nashville, then Eat Well Market is where you’re going to want to go. Their grilled pimento cheese and tomato sandwich is life-changingly good. And no, we’re not being dramatic. It’s really that good. Cristy Powell, owner of Eat Well (and mastermind behind the crack of pimento cheeses), began cooking in her parents’ Cajun restaurant when she was just seven years old. Every day after school she’d get off the bus, put up her belongings, and head to the restaurant’s kitchen where an old woman named Florida would teach her how to cook. Over the years, Cristy became increasingly interested in the healing power of healthy, organic foods, and after her mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer, she felt inspired to create her own catering business geared toward those with compromised immune systems or dietary restrictions. In February of last year, Cristy expanded her business and began offering takeout at Eat Well’s walk-up window. Using local ingredients (in the summer, an impressive 60 percent of Eat Well’s produce is grown in the restaurant’s garden) and purified water, everything on Eat Well’s daily changing menu is as healthy and affordable (affordability is something that is really important to Cristy) as it can possibly be. Certain menu items, like the Gorgeous Salad (seasonally available veggies with vegan honey mustard dressing) and dirty rice, are available daily. Oh, and Eat Well also offers freshly squeezed juices. We love the green lemonade, but you’re welcome to customize your own. Menu Highlights: Grilled Pimento Cheese and Tomato Sandwich, $6 Cajun Dirty Rice, $4 for a cup, $7 for a pint Gorgeous Salad, $3 for a small, $7 for a large Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:30am to 2pm, 4pm to 8pm Saturday, 10:30am to 9pm
