Looking for a camp that provides your child adventure with no bounds? Meet Downtown Sailing Center’s Junior Summer Program. Think wind in their hair, cooling sprays from the water, and an unbelievable view of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor! Today’s offer is for Junior Sail Camp: Access Dinghies, which is designed for beginners. Participants will learn the basics of sailing on the access dinghy fleet. These two person, non-capsizable dinghies are a perfect way for anyone to learn how to sail. They are a fun and easy way to get out on the water on your very first day. In addition to lots of time sailing, participants will also engage in numerous off-the-water activities, from group games to sailing focused projects. Each week offers a different adventure theme. The Downtown Sailing Center has been offering youth sailing programs for children between the ages of 8 and 16 since 1990. Since then, thousands of children have learned to sail with them. Sailing is an exhilarating way for children to learn teamwork, concentration and self-confidence -- not to mention a deep appreciation for the natural environment.

Held on select dates between June 22 and September 29, this three-hour class will teach you and your first mate the fundamentals of sailing -- giving you a firm anchor into the seafaring world. You'll learn everything from the parts of the boat and safety tips to rigging the sails, trying knots, and the basics of navigation. The certified and experienced instructors at this 17-year-old sailing school boast a fleet of Access Dinghies, J-22s, and Sonars that are ideal for teaching students of all skill levels.
