Television, film and Broadway star Valerie Harper ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show") recreates her Tony Award-nominated performance as Tallulah Bankhead in Matthew Lombardo's "Looped". Based on a true story, the play is set in a 1965 sound studio where Tallulah Bankhead, the original celebrity bad girl, has been summoned to re-record (or "loop") one line of dialogue for the film that would be her last, "Die, Die My Darling". What ensues is an epic showdown between an uptight sound editor and the outrageous legend. In the midst of the face-off, recollections spill out as Bankhead's talk turns to scandals and rumors that have followed her for years, from her infamous affairs to her disastrous performance in "A Streetcar Named Desire". "The New York Times" said Harper gives a "big, blustery performance, nailing every last laugh with a professionalism that the real Bankhead would surely admire."
