The only thing growing faster than your little one is the amount of photos you take of him or her. Give your kid a break from saying "cheese" and put the camera in their hands with today's deal from CPI: Spend $99 for one week of Camera Kamp (regularly $199). Third through twelfth graders will enjoy Sacramento's only photography camp Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weeks of 7/2, 16, 23 (seventh to twelfth graders only), or 8/6. Campers will begin their days with a discover your surroundings game, followed by show and tell and the shoot of the day, which might be a photo scavenger hunt, working with lighting, or doing pinhole photography. Then, they'll eat the lunches they've brought and get back to photographing in the field. The urban Arden Expo area location offers both wilderness along the American River Bike Trail for campers to explore and time in the studio -- where students work with lighting and even design their own photo T-shirt. With an emphasis on learning the principles of good photography, building self-esteem, and most importantly, having fun, this professionally run camp is sure to have everyone smiling -- whether or not a picture's being taken.
